Cristaino Ronaldo dos Santos Aveiro (full name) is a professional footballer, presently plays forward for Real Madrid and Portuguese National team. He is often preferred as the best player in the world.
He was born 5 February 1985 in Santos Antonio, in a neighborhood of Funchal Madeira.
Ronaldo is a multiple Fifa Ballon d’Or award winner, the first  player in history to win four European Golden shoes, He has  won 21 trophies in his career, including five league titles, Four UEFA Champions League Titles and on UEFA European Championship.
He is a spectacular goals scorer, he have over 600goals in his senior career for club and country.
Early life
He was born to the humble family of Maria Dolores dos Santos Aveiro and Jose Dinis Aveiro, who had four Children and Ronaldo was the youngest of them all, His brother Hugo and sisters Elma and Lilana Catia. His father was a municipal gadnerer and his mother was a cook.
Ronaldo according to him said he grew up in poverty as he shared a room with his brother and sisters.
His family was a stunchly catholic. From a very young age Ronaldo had a passion for football and was gifted in it. He played for a amateur team Androrinha  at the age of 7 years in 1992 till 1995 at 10 years when he move to Nacional a local club where he play for two years.
He played a three day trial with Sporting CP who signed him for £1500. At the age of 12 he decided to fully go into the profession, he quit school and went full time in football.
About a year later he was diagnosed of racing heart, he had to undergo an operation in where a laser was used to cauterise the affected area of his heart.
This could have caused him his career but it went successful and the determined young boy was back on the field just days. His father who often drank too much, eventually died from kidney problems in 2005.

Club Career
Sporting Cp
Rolnaldo started his professional club career in Sporting CP, He was promoted to the senior team by the coach who was impressed with his dribbles skill.
He subsequently became the first player to play for the club’s under-16, under-17, and under-18 teams, the B team, and the first team, all within one season. In 2002 he made his first Premier League debut against Moreirence and scored 2 goals in a 3-0 win.
His manager in 2002/2003 season introduced him to top teams like Liverpool, Barcelona and Arsenal but later in august 2003 he caught the attention of Alex Ferguson after defeating Manchester United 3-1 in an inauguration in Estadio Jose Alvalede with Sporting. Ferguson considered the young player one of the most exiting young player he has ever seen.
Manchester United
Alex Ferguson signed the young player that same august in 2003, he was the first ever Portuguese player to be signed to the club. His transfer fee of £12.24 million made him, at the time, the most expensive teenager in English football history. Ronaldo did not disappoint the soccer world.
He showed his promise early on in the 2004 FA Cup final, scoring the team’s first three goals and helping them capture the championship.
In 2008, a year after signing a five-year, £31 million contract, Ronaldo again justified his high salary when he put together one of the club’s finest seasons in history, setting a franchise record for goals scored (42), and earning himself the FIFA World of the Year honor.
He won a total of three premier league championship and a Champions League title.
Real Madrid
Ahead of the 2009-10 season, Ronaldo joined Real Madrid for a record breaking transfer fee of £84 million for a six year contract with them. In Real Madrid he was presented with the number 9 shirt, his former number 7 was currently unavailable while Raul still wore the number 7 for that season before his departure.
His welcome drew almost 85,000 fan surpassing that of Diego Maradona when was welcomed to Napoli which recorded 75,000 fans. He made his debut in La Liga on 29 August 2009, against Depoetivo La Coruna, and scored from the penalty spot in Madrid’s 3-2 home win. He scored in each of his four league fixtures with Madrid, the first Madrid player to do so.
Following Raul’s departure , Ronaldo was handed the number 7 shirt for Real Madrid before the 2010-11 season.
He scoring trend was making waves all over Europe, although he didn’t make the podium for the inaugural FIFA Ballon d’Or at the end of 2010, marking 2010 the only year during his time in Spain to date that he was not named the world’s best two players.
He scored a total of 53 goals in all competitions in his second season at Real Madrid, the following year he surpassed the previous record scoring 60 goals in all completion in 2011-12 season. Ronaldo helped Real Madrid win their first La Liga title in four years with a record 100 points. Following a hat-trick against Lavante, further increasing Madrid’s lead over Barcelona.
Ha scored his 100th league goal for Madrid in a 5-1 win over Real Sociedad on 24 March 2012, a milestone he reached in just 92 matches across three seasons breaking the club previous record held by Ferenc Puskas.
During 2012-13 season Ronaldo captained Real Madrid for the first time in an official match; scoring a brace to lift 10 man Madrid to a 4-3 win over Real Sociedad on 6 January. Making him the first non-Spanish player in 60years to captain real Madrid on El Clasico.
At the start of 2013-2014 season Ronaldo signed a new contract that has extended his stay by three years to 2018, with a salary of £17 Million net making him briefly the highest paid player in football.
At the start of Ronaldo’s seventh season at Madrid, the 2015-2016 campaign he became the club all time top scorer first in the league and then all competitions.
His five-goal haul in a 6-0 away win over Espanyol on 12 Septemper took his tally in La Liga to 230goals in 203 games, surpassing the club’s previous recordholder Raul.
A month later, on the 17 October, he again surpassed Raul when he scored the second goal in a 3-0 win to Levante to take his overall total for the club to 324goals.
Ronaldo also became the all-time top scoere in the Champions League with a hat-trick in the first group match against Shaktar Donestsk having finished the previous season equal with Messi on 77 goals.
On 15 December 2016, Ronaldo scored his 500th club career goal(377goals for Madrid, 118goals for Manchester United and 5goals for Sporting Lisbon)
This year 2017 to present. On 15 January, Ronaldo tied Hugo Sanchez as the most prolific penalty kick scorer in the history of La Liga, with his 56th penalty from 65 attempts  and on 27 February 2017, Ronaldo overtook Hugo Sanchez as the most prolific penalty kick scorer in La Liga history on 27 February 2017 which also marked the 5900th goal in the history of Real Madrid and are recorded as the first team to do so.
12 April 2017, Ronaldo scored two goals in a 2-1 away win against Bayern Munich which marked his 100th goal in all UEFA club competitions and during the second leg scored a perfect hat-trick and reached his 100th UEFA Champions League goal becoming the first player to do so. In his subsequent La Liga Match against Sevilla, he scored two goals, eclipsing past his 400th goal mark for Real Madrid, with 401 goals equaling with Jimmy Greaves as the all time top scorer in the five Europeans Leauges he overtook it three days later after scoring a goal against Celta Vigo.
In the Champions League 2017 Final he scored two goals in the victory against Juventus and becoming the top goalscorer for the fifth consecutive and sixth overall with 12 goals, and became the first person to score inthree Finals in the Champions League as well as reaching his 600th senior career goal.
International Career
Ronaldo began is international career with the under-15 team, he also represented the under-17, under-20, under 21, under-23 national sides scoring 18 goals overall.
During the qualification for the 2014 world cup, Ronaldo scored a total of eight goals.
He is currently the top goal scorer of all time in the Portuguese national team with over 50 goals and counting.
