A resume is a document used by job seekers to help provide a quick summary of their abilities,skills and accomplishments.

Employers use a resume as a way to quickly screen potential job seekers as a result a good resume must be vital. A good  resume must be neat, clean and clearly written with professional font, well organized layout and qualification on target.

Your resume serves as a marketing tool to sell you to an employer so it must represent you as well. When writing your resume do not use cartoon font as it might depict a sign of gimmicks or tricks.

Most professionals use serif font as they are perceived as being reliable, authoritative and traditional. Serif font includes bell MT, Georgia, Calibri, Garamond, Goudy old style and cambria. San-serif fonts are also used and it includes helvetical and arial. Examples of san-serif font include  verdana, century gothic, gill sans MT, lucidasans and Tahoma.

RESUME LAYOUT;  Layout must be kept clean and clear

.Margins;keep margins ½ or 1 inch on all sides of the paper.

.Font size; with the exception of your name which can be written large, keep font sizre between 10 and 12 points. Note that fonts are larger or smaller  than each other, arial of 12 ias larger than time new roman of 12. Don’t sacrifice legibility just because you want everything on page.

.Spacing;  a single spacing works well with a line between each section.

.Paper; use an off white or bright white paper of a standard of 8 and ½ by11. Don’t cramp up paper so as not to look confusing or crowded.

RESUME CATEGORIES; Resumes literarily deal with categories that outline who you are and what you’ve done. Make sure categories are well define .  focus  and clarity is essential here.

.Header; start. with essential informations first such as personal info which include full name,phone number and e-mail.

A permanent mailing address must be included.

.Objective or resume summary; Depends on the kind of job you’re looking for.

Choose between objective statement that is your employment goals with the company you’re applying to and a resume summary that is a quick info of your skills and experiences that highlight your worth.

.Experience/ Qualification; this is all about your work history and should include who you worked for, what work was done and how long you did it.

.Skills and Abilities; this may include technical skill, computer skill, language skill and everything that can sell you as the perfect candidate.

.Interest/ Hobby; not every resume should have interest. Include interest that are only related to the job you’re applying for.
