Isaiah 40 : 31 ‘They that wait upon the Lord shall renew their Strength’ – what does it mean?

By  |

Praise the name of the lord forever, our God is good.

With Joy in my heart, i bring to you, the word of the lord for today, and i am delighted that you are reading this great epistle, as i am very sure, it will transform your life totally.

The bible speaking in Isaiah 40: 31 says;

31 But they that wait upon the Lord shall renew their strength; they shall mount up with wings as eagles; they shall run, and not be weary; and they shall walk, and not faint.

Now some people might want to ask, what does it mean to wait upon the lord?

Let’s take a little push down the line, and read Isaiah 40 : 30 – Even the YOUTH shall faint and be weary, and the young men shall utterly fail;

Now that was what preceded Isaiah 40 : 31, which is our focus for today.

As we journey down the line in life, we are going to experience mountains and challenges, this is not an excuse, this is rather, the reality of God’s word, but we know fully well that, weeping scripturally is meant to last for a night, and There is a promise of JOY in the morning, so any challenges that we are going through as a believer, it is not forever, its rather for a while.

But there is something very essential the lord is communicating to us in Isaiah 40 : 30 and 31, and i really like you to listen and read n with an open mind, to the end that the reality of God’s word in that scripture can penetrate and come into your life and your spirit.

Those who tries to fight the battle of life and destiny within the capacity of their own power and wisdom are bound to fail continually, that is exactly what the lord is saying here,

We don’t leave God out of the equation, you can not handle it yourself, the bible says, even the youth shall faint and be weary and young men shall utterly fail,

what does this means?

It simply means, youths are ultimately known for strength, but then, their own strength too the bible says shall fail, no wonder it is written in Ecclesiastes 9 : 11 – I returned, and saw under the sun, that the race is not to the swift, nor the battle to the strong, neither yet bread to the wise, nor yet riches to men of understanding, nor yet favour to men of skill; but time and chance happeneth to them all.

So GOD is the custodian of our victory and we must understand how to wait on him, there is no victory accorded to you in your life time that you are permitted to take glory in, you are rather suppose to give the glory back to God, so when we are face to face with warfare, our dependency on God is a major prerequisite for success and victory.

The bible says, those that wait upon the lord shall renew their strength, times are coming upon the earth when strength of men will fail in battles and warfare, when wisdom and understanding of men will not be competent to handle what is coming on the scene, but those who wait and trust in the lord alone will emerge victorious.

The bible made it clear in Malachi 4 : 1 –

1″For behold, the day is coming, burning like a furnace; and all the arrogant and every evildoer will be chaff; and the day that is coming will set them ablaze,” says the LORD of hosts, “so that it will leave them neither root nor branch.” 2″But for you who fear My name, the sun of righteousness will rise with healing in its wings; and you will go forth and skip about like calves from the stall.

Praise the name of the lord forever.

Can you see what promises therein in verse 2?

Our referential fear of the Lord will do a whole lot for us in live as a believer, Peter was a nobody, just an ordinary fisher man, but JESUS said to him – Follow me, and i will make you, so our making in life and destiny is in the following of the pattern man – JESUS CHRIST!

There are many ways through which, we wait on the lord, i only share a few here, and i believe by the time, you are done going them and acting upon them, your life and destiny will never remain the same.

Praise the name of the lord, don’t ever depend on yourself, always learn to lift up your eyes to the heavens for that is where your help is coming from.

As you wait on the lord for wisdom and understanding, his voice and his instructions as to how and where you should go and live your life, i see God giving unto you fresh strength in Jesus name!
