9 Ways To Please the Lord
The purpose of God for creating man is for man to live a fulfilled life, and living for God.
A life that is dedicated to pleasing God, our Maker irrespective of what problems we face or are going through.
God’s expectation of man is to build others through our lives and our attitudes.
There are numerous examples of godly men who live their lives pleasing God among which are: Abraham, Moses, Joshua, Joseph, Jesus, Paul, John, David and so on without any form of objection whether it was convenient or not.
There are seven ways the Bible teaches us to please God our Maker which are very important to our existence, they are as follows:
- By reading the word of God.
Joshua 1:8-9. This book of the law shall not depart out of thy mouth; but thou shalt meditate therein day and night, that thou mayest observe to do according to all that is written therein: for then thou shalt make thy way prosperous, and then thou shalt have good success.
Have not I commanded thee? Be strong and of a good courage; be not afraid, neither be thou dismayed for the LORD thy God is with thee whithersoever thou goest.
God commanded Joshua through Moses that he must be reading the book of the law to be able to achieve good success in his ministry. Every children of God need to be reading the word of God if we truly want to know the Lord and His way.
We all need the WORD to live a life that pleases God, the Word is the food of our spirit and is the way for every believer grow spiritually.
- Obedient to His will.
James 2:23. And the scripture was fulfilled which saith, Abraham believed God, and it was imputed unto him for righteousness: and he was called the Friend of God
The Bible called Abraham a friend of God because of his obedient to the commandment of God. Believing God is not complete without obedient to His commands, any child of God that want to please the Lord must be obedient to His will and command.
Matthew 18:21-22. Then came Peter to him, and said, Lord, how oft shall my brother sin against me, and I forgive him? Till seven times? Jesus saith unto him, I say not unto thee, Until seven times: but, Until seventy times seven.
Forgiveness is compulsory that is why Jesus answered Peter “until seventy times seven” knowing fully well that it is not possible for a man to offend another person for that number of times in a day. Jesus teaches disciple that the only way they can receive forgiveness from God is to forgive anyone person that offended them. Mark 11:26 But if ye do not forgive, neither will your Father which is in heaven forgive your trespasses.
- Preaching the word.
Romans 10:8-9 But what saith it? The word is nigh thee, even in thy mouth, and in thy heart: that is, the word of faith, which we preach; That if thou shalt confess with thy mouth the Lord Jesus, and shalt believe in thine heart that God hath raised him from the dead, thou shalt be saved.
There is no way we can win soul for God without preaching the word of God. Preaching the word of God is the power unto salvation to everyone that believes. Romans 1:16
- By living holy life
Holiness is not an option, it is a command from God….
Without holiness we cannot please the Lord. Hebrews 12:14
God says; Be ye holy for I am holy. Lev. 20:7, 1 Pet. 1:15
- By inquiry of the Lord.
1 Samuel 23:2 Therefore David inquired of the LORD, saying, Shall I go and smite these Philistines? And the LORD said unto David, Go, and smite the Philistines, and save Keilah.
I Samuel 23:4 Then David inquired of the LORD yet again. And the LORD answered him and said, Arise, go down to Keilah: for I will deliver the Philistines into thine hand.

199: 164 Seven times a day do I praise thee because of thy righteous judgments.
David is a man after God’s heart because there is no man in history that has ever praise God like him. Despite the sin of David before God, he still called him a man after His own heart because he has the key to the heart of God which is “praise”.

Everything things that has to do with God requires faith. We must know that faith is what brought us to God and we need faith to remain in God.
Lastly, anything outside faith is not of God and it can never please Him.

Matthew 25:21 His lord said unto him, well done, thou good and faithful servant: thou hast been faithful over a few things, I will make thee ruler over many things: enter thou into the joy of thy lord.
Faithfulness is an attribute of God, according to Deuteronomy 7:9
God delight so much in faithfulness from every of his children to Him, to His work, and to their fellow human being. Therefore, there is a good reward for everyone that is faithful.
